Lipstick is a very common accessory that is being used by countless women today. It adds beauty and improves a woman’s look instantaneously if used the right way. It comes in various shades and can make a woman’s lips jump out and grab attention. One place where you don’t want it to end up though is on your carpet. Sometimes you may accidentally drop your lip stick resulting in ugly stains and spots on your beautiful carpet, especially if you have a light colored one.
Lipstick stains are tough and can be a pain to remove. It is not entirely impossible though as with the proper technique you can get rid of it completely. Here are the steps that you need to follow to safely remove lipstick stains on your carpet.

  1. Prepare the Materials You Will Need – Before going up against the lipstick stain, you will first need to gather all of the materials which you will need. For this task, you’ll be needing some acetone, a clean white cloth or some cotton, and water. With these on hand, you can now proceed and start the procedure to remove the stain.
  2. Use the Acetone on the Lipstick Stain – Before using the acetone on the stain, it is important to make sure that it will not damage your carpet. Some carpet materials are not compatible with acetone and other chemicals so it is always a good idea to test a small amount of it on an inconspicuous part of the carpet first. Once you are sure that acetone is safe to use, apply some of it onto the clean white cloth or the cotton and dab the stain with it.
  3. Blot The Lipstick Stain – After applying the acetone onto the stain in the previous step, get another clean white cloth and start blotting the stain with it. Apply some pressure using your fingers and blot from the outside moving inwards. The lipstick stain will start transferring onto the cloth and after a few tries it will be completely gone.
  4. Rinse the Area with Water – With the lipstick stain removed, take a spray bottle and spray the area you just cleaned with water. Then, dry it up by dabbing it with clean rags or towels. This prevents residue from being left behind and slowly building up.

Lipstick stains should not be a problem for you anymore. Just follow these tips and soon you’ll be able to remove that lipstick stain on your carpet in no time.
