Baking soda is cheap and it can be found in almost any grocery store so you won’t have any problems finding some. To use baking soda, sprinkle a layer of it onto the area of the carpet where the smell is concentrated. Leave the baking soda on the carpet overnight to really let it absorb the unpleasant odor. The following morning, get a vacuum cleaner and use it to remove the baking soda from the carpet. You will notice that the unpleasant odor will be gone and your carpet will be smelling fresh once more.
